Ladies and gentlemen, guests, staff and friends,
Thank you for being here today for the the inauguration ceremony of our brand new building.
It's a special moment for many of us, because today, some dreams have come true..
As you know, five years ago, this station was just a symbol of the ruin of this city. We literally started from scratch: A city whose image was inatractive, lifeless, people apologized for knowing that others lived there...
But I've always been proud of Detroit, I was looking at that train station thinking, what if??What if all we were doing was restoring this fabulous building and making it sparkle...
That's what we did!
Today it has everything we could ever imagine: with cafés, restaurants and shops, as well as offices for up to 5,000 people on the upper floors. It has become a public attraction with everything this city needed! For this, we needed a building. And this station was ideal. So, yes:
without you, this project would not have seen the light of day! it would not have been completed. Without you, this building could not have been designed, built, equipped or furnished!
Without you, this building would not have become as attractive and pleasant to live.
To make this dream a reality,
Thank you all for this great day, and for our great future. Thank you, thank you and thank you to this city.
Sujet 2 : ' Happiness is place called :
Happiness is a place called... here and now.
For me, happiness is not to be found, it is to be built. But whether it's here or there, it can be found anywhere. Whether it's through simple little things or big events. Happiness can be close by, wherever it is. Where I can laugh surrounded by my loved ones, on a beach watching the sun go down, or on a simple bench watching the stars shine, on a dance floor with friends, or where I can get a kiss from the one who shares my life. This is the place. Happiness is not a place, I couldn't name a town, or a house, because that's not what it is to me. Everything I need can be in so many different places... It's a moment. And as if it were a place, we can all find it and be happy. It is a state of mental fluidity, of acceptance, of "living in the moment". Because happiness is all of that, it's where you want it to be. But if I really had to give a place to happiness, it would be for me some more spiritual part, because it would be in the head and in the heart. Where we are ready to accept happiness, without waiting for it and without looking for it. It will come to us, and at that moment we must not let it fly away, but enjoy it. As long as it's a place of well-being.
