POST 14: TºL LVA & LVO: YOUR INDIVIDUAL DOCUMENT ON THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE CURRENT HEALTH CRISIS

We are in a special situation right now, in the midst of a health crisis that we have to face. In this period of coronavirus that affects the world, how can we link this difficult phenomenon, never known before, with the notion of spaces and exchanges?

To begin with, this picture shows us the Earth 'surrounded' by a mask, which from my point of view sums up our current situation in a simple and eye-catching way.
We can then connect this poster with our notion.

First of all we can see different things through this picture:

The mask is all around the Earth, so we can see that this virus affects everyone!
Whether it is in America, France, China, Spain etc... It's a pandemic that affects the whole population.
We can see with the appearance of the mask all around us that the earth is 'enclosed', held by this virus that disrupts our usual life, our routine, our projects... Because this virus is taking on huge proportions.
This situation has therefore implied measures to be taken in order to avoid the spread. Difficult measures such as stopping schools, work... but above all the duty to stay at home.
Between loneliness, depression, difficulties of all kinds, the time seems long, and the death that weighs because yes, the possibility of being infected is present, and the virus can kill.

I think the hands in which the planet is held represent the doctors and the nurses. ( Car door closes ) ( White sleeves ) Who at this time are doing the best they can to fight the virus as well as take care of the sick, infected. They are on the front lines in this war against this virus, many lives are in their hands.

But how does this image relate to the notion of space and exchange?
The corona virus is therefore a 'common evil' that affects all continents.  It reminds us that the economy is a matter of human contact, so without physical exchange, there is no trade. A large number of businesses and companies have had to stop their activities, the number of unemployed is increasing, and the whole economy of the world is back in a state of flux.
Because the progress of Covid-19 affects many industrial sectors and increases the supply problems in the world .

Globalization has propelled China into the heart of highly complex supply chains. In fact, companies around the world depend on Chinese supplies, which is why plant closures in affected provinces have affected so many industries.

Covid-19 reminds us that the world is truly connected, that economics is about human contact, that without physical exchange, there is no trade. Finally, all our traded goods, whatever they are, are shared goods, common goods throughout the world.

In particular, the virus has attacked real relationships, close and not only global, by making them contagious.  Personal space measures to be respected when shopping for basic necessities and so on. The contact is thus reduced with others and even with our relatives.
Whether economically or socially, whatever the space and the exchanges we are forced to face this situation where our exchanges are reduced.

As you know, five years ago, this station was just a symbol of the ruin of this city.  We literally started from scratch:  A city whose image was inatractive, lifeless, people apologized for knowing that others lived there... But I've always been proud of Detroit, I was looking at that train station thinking, what if?? What if all we were doing was restoring this fabulous building and making it sparkle...  That's what we did!   Today it has everything we could ever imagine: with cafés, restaurants and shops, as well as offices for up to 5,000 people on the upper floors.  It has become a public attraction

Google search: Locavores :   It’s an adept of sustainable development, locavorism brings consumers together around a simple idea:   to eat exclusively local food. They are consumers of local products, who respect a dietary discipline and a way of life; that of eating products whose geographical origin is located less than 160 km from their plate. Refusing the abuses of globalization, wanting to make progress on the ecological front, locavores support the local economy. They prefer seasonal consumption from local producers. They fight, on their own scale, against ecological drift by limiting pollution linked to transport, the use of packaging and the abuse of pesticides, fertilizers and GMOs... This is a chosen lifestyl with the concerns of the people who consider that within modern society , a utopian alternative .
